Kim Petras Cancels Summer 2024 Festival Shows Due to Health Concerns

Kim Petras, the Grammy-winning artist, has announced her withdrawal from several upcoming music festivals this summer due to health issues. In a social media post on April 24, the 31-year-old singer expressed her devastation over having to make this decision based on medical advice.

Petras was scheduled to perform at various festivals, including Primavera Sound Festival in Spain, Mighty Hoopla in the United Kingdom, Primavera Sound Porto in Portugal, LadyLand in New York City, and Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle. However, she regretfully informed her fans that she would not be able to fulfill these commitments.

Despite the setback, Petras assured her fans of her love and promised to make it up to them. She expressed her gratitude for their support and vowed to return better than ever after focusing on her health.

This announcement comes after Petras’ recent performance at Oasis Wynwood in Miami on April 12, where she shared the stage with Madonna at the Queen of Pop’s Celebration Tour stop at the Kaseya Center on April 9.

In a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, Petras discussed the challenges of dealing with fame and the importance of therapy in maintaining mental well-being. She credited therapy for helping her navigate the pressures of the music industry, especially following the success of her collaboration with Sam Smith on “Unholy,” which earned a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Petras expressed her gratitude towards Smith for being a source of support and inspiration during challenging times. Despite the overwhelming attention and scrutiny that came with her success, she remains grateful for the opportunities it has brought to her career.

While Petras acknowledges the impact of her achievements, she emphasizes the importance of prioritizing her health and well-being above all else. Her decision to cancel festival performances reflects her commitment to self-care and recovery, as she looks forward to returning to the stage when she is ready.
