FLO on Heartbreak, Healing, and Making ‘Therapy at the Club’

For the British trio FLO, the club is more than a dancefloor — it’s a place to escape your troubles, discover new sides of yourself and, yes, heal. Hence the title of their second album, Therapy at the Club, out August 7.

Across 16 tracks, Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer map the full emotional arc of a night out — the anticipation before, the feelings during, the comedown after. Heartbreak, warning a friend’s new partner to treat her right, or simply the thrill of feeling hot.

The album lands two years after their 2024 debut Access All Areas, which earned a Grammy nomination, and four years after their viral breakout “Cardboard Box.” Having risen by channelling the sound of 2000s groups like Destiny’s Child, SWV and Xscape, the group is now pushing that inheritance somewhere of their own.

The through-line is the idea that joy and release can be their own kind of therapy — a night out reframed as self-care set to a beat.
