Ellen DeGeneres Offers Rare Glimpse Inside Elegant English Estate With Portia De Rossi

Ellen DeGeneres is giving fans a closer look at her new life abroad. The former talk show host offered a peek inside the luxurious English estate she shares with wife Portia de Rossi through an Instagram video posted Sunday, showing their dogs lounging and playing in the sun-drenched living room of their Cotswolds residence.

“They’ve finally figured it out. We’ve all been sad since losing Augie,” Ellen DeGeneres wrote in the caption, referencing the couple’s beloved rescue dog who passed away in May. “Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play.”

The emotional update doubled as a quiet showcase of the couple’s refined, countryside-inspired interior. The living space features a sleek glass coffee table styled with books and candles, placed atop a gray and white geometric rug. The room opens to sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows revealing lush green landscaping beyond.

The video continued through the open interior, capturing a warm dining area with a long tiled table encircled by cream-colored chairs and topped with minimalist candle décor. A bar cart stocked with premium liquor sat nearby, along with a neutral-toned sofa set and a green loveseat. Honey-hued walls, exposed light wood ceiling beams, and a stone staircase further underscored the estate’s elegant and rustic charm.

Ellen DeGeneres, 67, and de Rossi, 52, relocated to the UK in 2024 following Donald Trump’s second presidential election win, ultimately settling into the Cotswolds countryside full time. Their first purchase in the region was a 43-acre property named Kitesbridge Farm, but they lived there for only a month before upgrading to their current, even larger estate a necessary move to accommodate de Rossi’s horses.

“When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” Ellen DeGeneres told. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”

Their realtor from Sotheby’s described their new primary residence as reminiscent of something “you’d see in Malibu” modern, expansive and tastefully understated.

The couple listed their initial Cotswolds estate in July for $30 million $10 million more than what they paid after undergoing significant renovations. Known for their real-estate ventures and swift home transformations, the pair reportedly employed around 70 workers to complete in just four and a half months what contractors estimated would require at least 18.

The renovated 16,600-square-foot farm is made up of multiple structures connected through enclosed glass walkways. The main home, originally built in the 1700s, includes six bedrooms, while an additional two-bedroom guesthouse sits elsewhere on the property. Amenities include a full party barn complete with a pub, a dedicated gym building, a heated swimming pool, and a five-car heated garage with its own kitchenette.

Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi, who married in 2008, remain well known for their extensive and ever-changing real estate portfolio. Earlier this year, they sold their beachfront bungalow in Montecito, California, for $5.2 million.

Though the pair have stepped away from Hollywood’s day-to-day spotlight, their English countryside life appears to be grounded, peaceful, and filled with the simple joy of quiet mornings, sprawling gardens, and the companionship of beloved animals old and new.
