Kim Kardashian Says She Has Yet To Pass Bar Exam, Vows To Continue Legal Journey

Kim Kardashian has shared a personal update on her ongoing path toward becoming a lawyer, revealing that she did not pass the California bar exam this summer. The reality star and entrepreneur addressed the news directly on her Instagram Stories, clarifying that while she currently portrays an attorney on television, her real-life legal credentials are still in progress.

“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kim Kardashian wrote. “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up just more studying and even more determination.”

Kim Kardashian expressed gratitude for those who have supported her and emphasized that the setback has only strengthened her resolve. “Falling isn’t short of failure it’s fuel,” she said. “I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more.”

This recent attempt marks at least the fourth time Kim Kardashian has taken the bar. She previously failed the exam three times before passing the First-Year Law Students’ Examination commonly referred to as the “baby bar” in 2021. Kardashian is completing her legal education through California’s apprenticeship route, which does not require attendance at a traditional law school. Her interest in the legal field began in 2018, fueled by her work on criminal justice reform and advocacy for incarcerated individuals.

Kim Kardashian has previously said her long-term ambition is to open a law firm dedicated to hiring formerly incarcerated individuals. “I want to finish law school and then my ultimate goal is to open up a firm that hires formerly incarcerated people,” she shared in 2022, reflecting her broader focus on reentry support and systemic reform.

Her pursuit of law follows a family legacy. Kim Kardashian’s late father, Robert Kardashian, was a prominent attorney, best known for his role on O.J. Simpson’s defense team in the 1995 murder trial.

Her legal ambitions have recently intersected with her entertainment career. Kim Kardashian currently stars in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair, in which she portrays a high-powered lawyer. Despite the series featuring an ensemble cast that includes Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson and Niecy Nash, the show has received mixed critical reviews. The Hollywood Reporter’s TV critic Angie Han referred to it as “stiff and affectless.” However, viewer response has been significantly more positive, with the show currently ranked as the No. 1 series on Hulu.

Kim Kardashian responded to the critiques with a lighthearted tone online, posting a set of photos and memes alongside the caption: “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?”

As for her legal future, Kim Kardashian made it clear that this latest hurdle is not the end of the road. With renewed momentum and public encouragement, she plans to continue studying and retake the bar exam driven by what she calls “more determination than ever.”
