Jonathan Bailey can describe a scent so vividly you half expect to smell it. As the face of Armani Beauty’s newest fragrance, I Will, the actor talks about its leather note as “all enduring, sexy, and committed. I wear it in the day, and then it evolves into night, which I think a good scent should.”
The campaign is another marquee moment for Bailey, already known as Fiyero in Wicked and Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix hit. Ahead lie roles opposite Laura Dern and Natalie Portman — and, most personally, the title part in a West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George.
“I’m going back to the same theatre that I started out at when I was six,” he says of the stage return. “I’ve been really thinking about how I’m experiencing a success that I never thought would be possible for me.”
It’s that mix of ambition and disbelief that he brings to the fragrance too — a scent, he suggests, for someone growing into a version of themselves they didn’t quite dare imagine.
