Caudalie’s First Hair Range Has Been Six Years in the Making

Hair has spent the past few years being treated like skin — serums, named actives, scalp massage, the whole apparatus of a skincare routine relocated a few inches north. Caudalie has now made the move official. On Tuesday 28 July, the French brand that built its reputation on grape-derived facial care released its first hair collection, after six years of development.

The range is built around VineOxyl, a patented molecule derived from grape seeds. Caudalie says it acts on the mechanisms involved in hair follicle growth, slowing shedding and helping maintain density — which puts it squarely at the people dealing with thinning through hormonal change, stress, seasonal shedding, or simply age.

The serum

The Anti-Hair Loss Hair Serum is the centrepiece, and it is a scalp treatment rather than a hair product: three to four pipettes applied to the roots on dry or damp hair, worked in with the fingertips, left on overnight. Caudalie suggests daily use for three months as an intensive course, then twice weekly to maintain it.

Alongside VineOxyl, the formula uses chia and pea peptides for their antioxidant properties, plus a phyto-aromatic blend of green tea, poplar buds, cedar, violet and tonka bean — which, incidentally, should make it smell considerably better than most treatments in this category.

The figures Caudalie has published for it are striking: hair loss reduced by 53 per cent, density up 37 per cent, thickness up 39 per cent. Those come from the brand’s own clinical testing, and the announcement doesn’t state how many people were tested or over what period, so they are best read as the manufacturer’s claims rather than independent findings. The separate line that 100 per cent of testers were won over is a satisfaction score, which measures whether people liked the product, not whether it grew any hair.

Worth saying, too, that anything sudden, patchy or rapid is a matter for a GP or dermatologist rather than a serum: hair loss has causes that cosmetics can’t touch, several of them easily diagnosed and treated.

The shampoo

The Density & Volume Shampoo is the supporting act, aimed at fine or thinning hair and promising body at the root without weight. It’s free of sulphates and silicones and is suitable for all hair types, colour-treated included. On the evidence of the brief, this is the one doing the visible short-term work while the serum does the slower, less photogenic kind.

Where to get it

The collection goes on sale from 17 August 2026 on Caudalie’s own site, and reaches pharmacies and department stores from 1 September. Prices had not been announced at the time of the launch.
