Princess Rajwa of Jordan wore a navy Self-Portrait dress on Monday as she joined Crown Prince Hussein to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Crown Prince Foundation. The £420 design has drawn fresh comparisons between Rajwa and the Princess of Wales, who has worn the London label many times.
The dress has a white frilled neckline, contrasting white cuffs, a belted waist and a dropped hem, with gold hardware that Rajwa echoed in her accessories. She carried a metallic clutch and wore heels to match. Her long brunette hair fell loose from a side parting in soft curls, a style that has long been associated with Catherine. Crown Prince Hussein shared videos from the anniversary event on his Instagram account, giving followers a closer view of the outfit as the couple marked the milestone together.
Self-Portrait has become one of Catherine’s regular choices, and she often favours its hybrid pieces that combine a tailored jacket top with a fluid midi skirt. At Wimbledon in 2025 she wore a white Self-Portrait dress with almost the same shape as Rajwa’s new look, including the belt, short sleeves and buttons. The navy and white colourway has also featured in her wardrobe before, from an Alessandra Rich polka-dot dress with a crisp white collar at Bletchley Park in 2019 to a Suzannah London coat dress at the naming of HMS Glasgow.
Designer Amanda Wakeley OBE has previously spoken about how carefully Catherine chooses colour, silhouette and designer for each engagement. “She understands the influence she carries,” Wakeley said in an earlier HELLO! interview, adding that the princess uses fashion to support her role rather than overshadow it. Earlier this year, Catherine marked ANZAC Day in a custom Givenchy look by Sarah Burton.
Rajwa’s wardrobe is followed closely by royal fans, and HELLO! has charted a string of her recent outfits, from flared Y2K-style jeans at a royal reunion to an Alexander McQueen suit that also prompted comparisons with Catherine. Her young daughter, Iman, who recently turned two, has also been pictured in a £30 outfit from Next. The navy dress at the foundation celebration adds a polished daytime look to that list, pairing a label already linked with the Princess of Wales with the long, soft curls that have made the comparison between the two women so persistent.
