Kaia Gerber Seen in Los Angeles Three Weeks After the Death of Brother Presley

Kaia Gerber has been seen in public for the first time since her older brother, Presley Gerber, died on September 20 at the age of 27. The 25-year-old model, daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, was photographed leaving her gym in Los Angeles after a Sunday workout.

Dressed in black leggings, a black sweater, white socks, slippers and black sunglasses, she wore her brunette hair straight down her back and waved goodbye to a friend as she left. The outing came roughly three weeks after the family’s loss, which has drawn messages of support from friends including George and Amal Clooney.

Presley died at a mental health and addiction recovery centre in Santa Monica. He had checked in at about 10pm the night before and was later found unresponsive in his room. Local authorities are treating the death as a suspected overdose, have found no sign of foul play and say their investigation is continuing. Presley had spoken publicly for years about his struggles with mental health and substance use. On the Studio 22 podcast in 2023 he called mental health “a 24/7 job” and said he hoped his openness could help others.

The siblings were known to be very close. About a month before Presley’s death, Kaia told Vogue she was proud of how far he had come. She said she had come to see herself as the easy child who never asked for help, because two children needing support felt like too much for the family. She described her parents as very private people and said her brother had become a kind of teacher in his commitment to living openly. “There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she told the magazine.

Kaia is due to return to work later this year, when she begins filming Bulls towards the end of 2026. Her boyfriend, actor Lewis Pullman, is also part of the project. Crawford and Rande Gerber welcomed Presley in July 1999, and his sister has often spoken of how close the two were. In the same podcast interview, Presley said he hoped to have made mistakes so that other people would not have to.
