The 79th Annual Tony Awards are scheduled for June 7 and will air live on the CBS Television Network. Viewers will also be able to stream the ceremony in real time through Paramount+ Premium, while Paramount+ Essential tier subscribers will have access to the broadcast the day after it airs.
As the Broadway season moves toward its awards deadline, the eligibility cut-off date for the 2025–2026 Tony Awards has been set for April 26, 2026. Nominations for the 2026 ceremony will be announced on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Thirteen productions are currently scheduled to open in April ahead of the nominations deadline, including the new musical The Lost Boys, which is set to open on April 26, the final day of eligibility.
The Tony Awards have been broadcast on CBS since 2017 under a deal that runs through 2026. In recent years, the ceremony has followed a two-part format, with several creative and technical awards presented earlier and made available exclusively on streaming platforms, followed by the main televised broadcast.
The awards are produced by Tony Award Productions, a joint venture between the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, which together oversee the celebration of excellence in Broadway theater.
A host for this year’s ceremony has not yet been announced. Cynthia Erivo hosted last year’s Tony Awards, while Ariana DeBose served as host for three consecutive years prior.
Radio City Music Hall has long been the traditional home of the Tony Awards, though the event has rotated among several venues in recent years, including Lincoln Center, the Beacon Theatre, and the United Palace Theatre. The 74th Tony Awards, which honored productions from the 2019–2020 season, were delayed due to the pandemic and ultimately held on September 26, 2021, at the Winter Garden Theatre.
The return to Radio City Music Hall signals a renewed sense of familiarity for theatergoers, as Broadway prepares to celebrate its most notable productions and performances of the season.
